Well, I have neglected my blog for quite a while and I need to write something before the year ends. It has been a crazy one, to be sure! January started off with a bang! Our house was hit and my car totaled, we finally got our house fixed sometime in April, with a whole new facelift. The summer was another scorcher here in the desert. Fall, (did we have a fall?) was still pretty warm. We had 3 grandkids baptisms this year and that was pretty awesome. My husband has had a few odd jobs here and there, but nothing steady yet. It was an election year, too, so he got to work for one of the candidates (Romney)...going door to door, passing out literature and encouraging folks to vote.
Christmas came and went so fast, I still can't quite believe it was here at all. For Thanksgiving and Christmas we were blessed to be able to spend it with our children and grandchildren that live around us. Fortunately, tho, during the summer, our oldest son and his family came for a visit from Alabama. Boy, how quick the kids grow up! Thanksgiving, our daughter & son-in-law, that live in Utah, were able to spend Thanksgiving with us. I am truly thankful for the internet that enables us to keep in touch with our family via Skype, Facebook, and emails. We have come along way...
I'm hopeful that the new year will bring many blessings and good things to us and our family. I also pray that the economy will turn around for the better and people will be able to find jobs, keep their homes, and our country can heal from all the tragedies brought on by natural disasters and crimes that are unspeakable.
One of my favorite quotes says it all: "...fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith." --President Thomas S. Monson
Happy New Year to all my family and friends--near and far! May God bless America and keep it the land of the free!
